Governing Council of Paul University Pays Courtesy Visit to Acting Vice-Chancellor
The Governing Council of Paul University, Awka, led by its Chairman and Pro-Chancellor, Prince Dr Emeka Eze, on Monday, paid a congratulatory courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, ProfessorCarol Arinze-Umobi, who is also a member of the Council.
In her introductory remark, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Chinyere Stella Okunna commended Professor Arinze-Umobi, describing her as a determined and accomplished academic. She expressed confidence in the Acting Vice-Chancellor’s ability to make a significant impact, highlighting her knowledge, intelligence, diligence, and unwavering focus. Professor Okunna noted that Professor Arinze-Umobi has a strong track record of achieving her goals.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor, Venerable Professor Obiora Nwosu, congratulated Professor Arinze-Umobi on her new appointment, acknowledging the Council’s decision to formally felicitate with her.
Professor Emma Ezenwaji, a Council member, expressed his gratitude to God for Professor Arinze-Umobi’s appointment, noting that he was confident she would leave a lasting legacy. He praised her commitment to Paul University and assured her of the Council’s unwavering support whenever needed.
His Royal Highness, Sir Professor C. M. Anikweze, the traditional ruler of Awkuzu and Dean of Education, offered his blessings, praying for God’s guidance and protection for the Acting Vice-Chancellor as she pilots the affairs of the institution.
In her response, Professor Carol Arinze-Umobi expressed her gratitude for the Council’s visit and the honour bestowed upon her. She affirmed her commitment to strengthening the relationship between Paul University and Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik), noting that Paul University has a “big sister” in Unizik. She also thanked the Pro-Chancellor for his unwavering dedication to advancing the University’s mission and vision.
The delegation included Professor Clifford Nwanna, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, Associate Professor Rose Nwankwo, Venerable Dr G. O. Madubuike, Dr Ekene Dibua, Mr Emmanuel Okafor, Uju Anyaoku, and Blessing Okafor.
