REPORT OF THE SUCCESSFUL FIRST PHASE OF THE SEMINAR ON THE DEMONSTRATION OF DELIVERY OF ONLINE LECTURES AND AUTOMATED PROCESSES FOR THE COLLEGE OF POST GRADUATE STUDIES HELD ON THURSDAY 02/06/2022 AT THE SENATE CHAMBER AND NEXT ACTIONS TO TAKE
am directed by the Dean, CPGS & DVC, Administration, Prof Godwin Onu to inform all about the success of the first phase of the seminar held today Thursday 02/06/2022 on the following:
1. Presentation on Courses Deliveries, Assessments and Examinations by Dr. Obinna Otuu (External Consultant)
2. Automation Processes of the Admissions, Registrations, Payments, Results Publication, General Records Keeping including Transcript Generations by Ken Akwue
The second phase of the Seminar is scheduled to take place by Thursday 09/06/2022 at the same Venue and Time before the commencement of Lectures and Research Work on 13/06/2022. More information will be circulated on this before then.
Members are to also note that we are taking attendance of participants. Only those that attended the Seminars will participate in the delivery of the PG Programme, which will have quasi-autonomous status and capable of paying its bills. Again, the next Thursday edition will be given massive advertisement on both traditional and social media, like Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc. Those who could not attend today’s event due to lack of information will be made to attend subsequent ones. At the end of next Thursday’s we shall arrange for certificate of participation to be issued to attendees.
Meanwhile, I am further directed to draw the attention of all concerned to the Minutes of the Board of CPGS on 12/05/2022 (attached), for outstanding desired actions as follows:
1. The HODs should post their First Semester PG Courses Allocations here.
2. The Chairman of the PG Programmes & Exams Committee should post here the following:
3a. All the current Departmental Programmes, which satisfy the NUC (National University Commission) conditions for starting PG Studies.
3b. The Schedule for Lecture Allocations, Deliveries, Seminar & Defence Presentations
4. The Bursar should send to the Dean, CPGS:
4a. The Schedule of the fees as discussed and agreed.
4b. The Projected Capital & Operating Expenditures of the CPGS, covering equipping the offices, hiring of the admin & academic staff, allowances, honoraria, etc
You are to further note that where there are noticeable issues with the assignments, such should be brought immediately to the attention of the Dean, CPGS or the under signed.
